AP-585 Pentium® II Processor GTL + Guidelines
The goal of this layout guideline is to provide a system designer with the information needed for the Pentium® II processor and
Intel 440 PCIset bus portion of the printed circuit board (PCB) layout. These guidelines are valid for the 440FX and future Intel
Pentium II processor PCIsets. Other chassis requirements including cooling, mechanical stability, memory location, etc. may
constrain the system topology and component placement location, therefore constraining the board routing. These issues are not
directly addressed in this document. This document provides guidelines and methdologies that are to be used with good
engineering practices. It does not provide hard and fast rules.
